The Eagala Model
The Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) is an international nonprofit organization that developed equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) and provides training and certification to equine therapy professionals.

The EAGALA model uses a team approach to EAP by using a licensed mental health professional, equine specialist and horses to facilitate the therapeutic process. The EAGALA model is hands-on and ground-based learning; it is not therapeutic horseback riding.
